Why it is special

This is a more demanding training hike than a casual hill walk, rewarding hikers seeking sustained climbing close to Bandung. It should not be described as an easy beginner route.

Local perspective

DetikJabar's reporting distinguishes Legok Haji from the military-linked Kopassus route, which requires permission and is not suitable for casual access.

What to expect

Approximately 3–4 hours uphill and around 2 hours down in a 2026 route guide. The ground is steep, rooty and potentially slippery, and no dependable water source is listed, so bring enough from the start.

Best time to visit

Avoid heavy rain because steep soil and roots become slippery. Confirm route status, registration and whether a local guide is required.
