About the guide
A local guide with its feet on the ground.
Bandung Local Discovery is an independent reference for people who want to find worthwhile places — not the loudest ones. It brings together cafés, trails, food spots, pools, hot springs, and community spaces around Bandung and the surrounding highlands.
What this is
A directory, not a brochure.
The guide is organised around seven categories: cafés, hiking places, running places, community places, swimming places, hot springs, and food. Each entry explains what the place is, why it is interesting, and what a visit is likely to involve.
It is deliberately not a booking platform. There are no sponsored placements, affiliate links, or rankings sold to venues. The aim is to help you make a better decision about where to spend your time.
How it is made
Researched, with caveats intact.
Entries are built from public research: local reporting, official tourism and government listings, community discussions, and current business listings. Not every venue has been visited in person, so the guide distinguishes between a documented place and a detail that still needs checking.
Hours, prices, access rules, and even operating status can change. Where that is the case, the entry says so. Treat every practical detail as a snapshot rather than a guarantee, and confirm before making a special trip.
The discovery score is an editorial estimate of how distinctive and worthwhile a place is. It is not a review score, a popularity ranking, or a measured rating.
On maps and images
Clear about what is verified.
A small number of places have a confirmed Google Maps place link. For the rest, the guide offers a clearly labelled search link rather than pretending an unverified pin is exact. If an address is uncertain, the entry says that too.
No verified venue photography was available for this first release. The artwork on the site is abstract category illustration — an editorial visual language, not a photograph of the place you will visit.
“A good guide does not promise certainty. It helps you ask the right questions before you go.”
